New law makes govt equally liable for any data breach

Large tech giants will be nudged to fall in line with India's new data law by the end of one year, minister of state for IT & electronics Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Friday, adding that it's not just the private entities that will be held accountable for any data leaks and deficiencies in handling privacy of citizens, but the government will be equally responsible and answerable for any kind of data mismanagement.
